Minor shelf-wear along top/bottom-edge and corners. Opening is crisp with signs of light use and divots. (Not a cut-out.)
Sing a Hymn With Me (T-1679), by Tennessee Ernie Ford, is a reissue on Capitol Records, is a cherished collection of gospel hymns that highlights Ford’s resonant baritone and spiritual sincerity. Released as a mono vinyl LP with a lyrics booklet, it features 14 traditional hymns, including Onward, Christian Soldiers, The Church in the Wildwood, and What a Friend, arranged to emphasize emotional depth and communal worship. Historically significant, the album, originally issued in 1960 and reissued later, contributed to gospel music’s mainstream appeal during a period of cultural and religious reflection in post-war America. No tracks from this album became chart-topping singles, but hymns like The Church in the Wildwood and Jesus Loves Me were particularly beloved in religious communities for their heartfelt delivery. Ford’s work on this album reinforced his legacy as a pivotal figure in blending gospel with popular music, resonating with diverse audiences.
